The Irish chocolate brand Lily O’Brien’s launched an original and funny campaign with the concept ‘Share Wisely’ where it explores in a humorous way the dilemma between sharing and keeping, especially for something as tempting as chocolate. Although the campaign was not entirely focused on Mother’s Day, it was launched right around that time, which made it the perfect reminder and occasion for promoting their best-selling desserts collection that would go a great way for spoiling mums on their special day.

DOVE Chocolate - Mother’s Night

DOVE Chocolate put a twist on Mother’s Day by celebrating Mother’s Night. After all the brunches are done and gifts are opened and kisses are given by the little ones, the brand wanted to bring to light that the special day for mothers doesn’t end there and that they deserve the entire evening to reconnect with friends and spend some quality time for themselves. With a smart twist, the brand was able to get mothers to register for a chance to ‘own the night’ and take some well-earned time off from their children and instead focus on rekindling friendships and letting go for an entire evening.  

Tim Hortons - Disguised Donut Boxes

Tim Hortons, a Canadian multinational coffeehouse and restaurant chain, went all out for their Mother’s Day campaign, by combining two beloved activities: reading literature and indulging in sweet treats. The brand went on to create a sort of scavenger hunt, with scattered novels that were secretly filled with donuts in secret locations. The campaign played on the idea of a mother’s going out of their way to give everything to their children and therefore being deserving of having a good hiding spot for all their own treats, as well as on the concept that kids would not even suspect something this good coming out of a book. This secret stash of sweet temptations was a winner for the brand who managed to raise their awareness and get people interested in their antics. 

Tim Hortons - Timbits Donut Bouquet
