With all we know about online marketing and what changes will occur in 2015, does not necessarily mean that you will need to change your marketing strategy. With all the data available, marketers can create a better business strategy to help your company grow in the future. We will take a closer look at 4 marketing trends that all companies should implement to gain an advantage over their competitors.

Use LinkedIn and other Social networks to distribute content:

One social network that has risen over the past year is LinkedIn, as it has gained an advantage over Facebook, Twitter and other social networks with regards to publishing content, as business owners can use LinkedIn Pulse to distribute articles or links to other articles. Learn more about The Importance of Social Media.

According to the Content Marketing Institute's 2015 B2B benchmark report, "94% of B2B marketers use LinkedIn to distribute content, being preferred over other social media, as marketers believe it is more effective and yields better results

Increase Personalization on Marketing Channels

Many believe that the main focus of all marketers is to reach as many consumers as possible, and while that may be true and an important aspect, they must not forget to bring a personal touch to the messages they want to send their consumers, as a large percentage of consumers get frustrated when a website they visit has nothing to do with the actual website, such as ads or offers regarding other products.

According to a recent report, personalized emails can improve click-through rates by up to 14% and conversion rates can get a 10% increase.

Not only that, but a study found that in-house marketers who are personalizing their web experiences can achieve an increase in sales of up to 19%.

Improve Social Media Integration

As social media has been around for quite some time now, marketers still need to find ways to integrate all the various platforms into the campaigns they are working on. One way to do this is by simply adding sharing options to websites, blogs and emails, which can help the campaign reach more people, and thus making it more effective and giving it a greater chance of success. According to research by the CMO council, just by adding a social media button to emails alone can get you an increase in click-through rates by up to 150%.

Marketers need to be constantly researching new advances, so they are not left behind, as every year, all the major social networks add new features for their consumers, and if marketers aren’t paying attention, they can get lost in the highway of information, like missing an exit on the freeway and ending up not knowing where you are and how to get back.

By being constantly on the lookout, marketers will have no problem in finding out new features added by the big 4 of social media, and would of heard that in 2014, Twitter added new integrations with Amazon.com and Facebook added Local Awareness Ads.

Preparing for New Technologies

With the release of Apple’s iWatch earlier in 2014 and the buzz surrounding Android Wear, everything suggests that by the end of 2015, more and more people will be wearing these devices on their hands, and it will be up to the marketers to find new ways to market these devices, so that is something all marketers should keep an eye on and start preparing for.

Marketers should start early on using these devices will have a clear advantage over their competitors who will be trying to catch up, and if you think it’s too soon to worry about, according to a report, 68% of global technology companies are already saying that wearable devices have become a priority for their companies.

Learning how to market these devices will be a problem faced by all marketers in the upcoming years, so the best plan of action would be to start preparing, doing research and try to stay on top of the competition, because it’s important to think, after the iWatch, what comes next?
