Adobe Firefly, the generative AI system is here! The beta version of Adobe Firefly is currently available for public use and everyone is buzzing with excitement.
When it comes to images, one of the biggest challenges users typically face, especially when searching for images, is copyright issues. While copyright-free images are available, users often can’t find their desired image. This is where companies like Adobe hope to deploy generative AI solutions.
With Adobe Firefly, you can simply describe your desired artwork or image using natural language and the tool will automatically generate it. The tool uses a deep learning algorithm to understand the intent behind the text and create high-quality visual content that matches your description.
The core feature of Adobe Firefly is to enable you to create and enhance images and texts by simply communicating what’s on your mind. Firefly enables creators to work at the speed of their imaginations and will allow anyone to use their own words to generate content the way they envisioned it, regardless of their skills. This includes images, audio, vectors, videos and 3D, as well as creative ingredients like brushes, color gradients and video transformations producing limitless variations.
Let’s see what we can expect from Adobe FireFly!
In Painting
It allows you to add, remove or replace any object in an image.
Text to Image
Creative images from detailed text descriptions. As demonstrated in the example, an image is initially generated with the text prompt “Pets reading a book in a magical forest” with a list of styles and settings below.
Text Effect
Apply styles or textures to text with a text prompt. You can easily generate text with the effect you desire.
Text to Vector
For now, it allows you to create a vector but one that is editable in Illustrator!
Pretty fascinating, right? 🤗
According to David Wadhwani, president of the Digital Media Business at Adobe, generative AI is the next evolution of AI-driven creativity and productivity. “With Firefly, Adobe will bring generative AI-powered ‘creative ingredients’ directly into customers’ workflows, increasing productivity and creative expression for all creators, from high-end creative professionals to the long tail of the creator economy,”
As Adobe Firefly launched as a beta, it will only be available through a website. But eventually, Adobe plans to tightly integrate generative AI tools with its suite of creative apps, like Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere.
The available features currently available at Adobe Firefly can deliver desired results by understanding text-based instructions. However, Adobe has a lot of plans and additions, which are listed on the official page of Adobe Firefly. Here are the key features Adobe Firefly will be incorporated with:
The potential of generative AI combined with Adobe’s mastery of UI can shape the generative AI movement in new and fascinating directions. This is the year of AI disruption and generative AI is at the forefront of it.
