4 hacks for a fast Digital Transformation

Written by Christophoros Tzirtzipis | Apr 7, 2020

This is not an extremely optimistic article written by a company strategist, or a clickbait article. In the following article you will find fast and efficient ways that will help you grow digitally.

According to the Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI), Cyprus ranks 22nd out of the 28 EU Member states. What does this mean you ask? Well, as a country, we have a long way to go  if we want to be called Digitally “literate”.

This reminds me of my Masters’ Degree thesis back in 2011. I asked companies if they are familiar with the term “E-Business” and if they apply such business within their organisation.  The answer was that if their “guy” told them to do so, they would.

To cut a long story short, it appears that Cyprus has a long way to go. The covid-19 outbreak has given us an opportunity and profoundly shown the need to evolve digitally. Due to the lockdown, companies are forced to look into new ways of doing business, mainly by developing a shift in activities, making online activities the core pillar. With limited budgets, and with a little time to act, there are a few ways companies can make their way to digital transformation faster, aka,”hack” their way to it.

Go Online Go Fast

If you do not have an online presence, create a page on social media that is relevant to your company. Start posting about how your company is dealing with the outbreak and start communicating with your clients, online.

You need a website

There’s no time to argue about if your company needs a website, it’s more than obvious that people are  now (more than ever) searching for everything and anything they need online. You should be there. You can easily create a website and have all of your information there, easily accessible to everyone interested in your product or service.

Start selling online

If you want to hack your online sales, create a simple catalogue website with all pf your products. You will need to work on this, collect all the data / images / prices. You always knew this time would come and  if you were looking for a sign, well, this is it. Start small, 50-100 products, orders coming in via email and then add online payments. Do it the lean way

Email Campaigns

You have collected a ton of emails from clients and associates. If they opt-in for marketing communications from you, email them and let them know what you have been up to, open this communication channel up as well.

Pessimists will say it’s an outbreak, optimists will say it’s an opportunity. It’s up to you to decide what you want to call it. Opium Works and Digital tree have announced a relief package for our customers, you can find out more here
